The Television Workshop’s groundbreaking original online show is now ON SALE!
Lucy and Lee are sisters who need their own space. So being shut up in the bedroom they share, with only their past and their social media feed is far from ideal. Can their Digitally Encoded Replica Buddies help them find genuine connection and companionship in the virtual realm? Or do The DERBs have higher ambitions?
The show has been devised, rehearsed and will be performed remotely over video conferencing software whilst the cast and creative team are locked down in their homes. It marks the first collaborative performance project featuring members of both the Nottingham and Salford branches of The Television Workshop. The show is designed by final-year degree students, in association with Nottingham Trent University’s Theatre Design course.
Approx running time: 1 hour (no interval)
Content Warnings: Contains themes of emotional abuse, coercion and control, addiction to social media. References to suicide.
Age guideline: 13+.
Two types of ticket are available for this online-only performance, so be sure to book your preferred option…
You will view the performance live via an online link, which will be emailed to you ahead of the show date you select.
Front Row seats are, we think, the best way to experience the show. It means you’ll be in a Zoom meeting with some of the performers and be able to interact with, see and be seen by them and other audience members. The aim is to, as far as we can, emulate the communal nature of the live theatre experience. You will need Zoom downloaded on your device ahead of the performance, and we recommend a computer or laptop for the best viewing experience. Tickets are strictly limited for this option, so book quickly to avoid disappointment!
