The Workshops’ value is not just to our side of the profession, but to the young people themselves who come to them. They provide a fantastic opportunity for people who might otherwise not get the chance to discover their hidden talents — Kate Day
Kidsplay

The Under 11s end the year with a reprise of Kidsplay
The Workshop first performed Kidsplay in 1999 (see photo to the right). It was directed by Alison Rashley and featured amongst others smaller versions of Aisling Loftus, Eliot-Otis Brown Walters and Terry Haywood. The dog poo scene also had an airing at last year’s showcase.
The play was originally written and devised for the Hull Truck Theatre and captured the innocence and nastiness of childhood in the days when kids played out after dark and things seemed simpler.

Ex workshop member Perry Fitzpatrick has teamed up with current members of the over 16 group to make a short film called A Dog’s Best Friend. The video has been entered into the Virgin Media Shorts competition. Please vote for the film at virginmediashorts.co.uk
