The Heights

2009′s entry for the National Theatre Connections Project was the Heights by Lisa McGee. Directed by Workshopper Nic Harvey “A gifted director that showed maturity in craft, style and innovation” - Roisin McBrinn (NT assessor). With set designs from workshop favourite Kelly Jago “one of the most original and successful designs I have seen within the connections cycle.”
Lillie Lee lives on the Heights estate. Confined to her bedroom by sickness, Lillie feels isolated and abnormal. Her bedroom window is her only connection to the outside world; she obsessively watches her neighbours from it and keeps herself occupied by making up stories about them.
The show was performed at The Television Workshop on Stoney Street before being taken up to Scarborough to be performed at the Stephen Joseph Theatre as part of the National Theatre Connections Project
