A fateful decision to run or face the music. Joe Casey’s life will never be the same whichever pathway he chooses. But which version of his story will win the girl?

OUR HOUSE is a upbeat award -winning musical featuring the songs of Madness, including favourites My Girl, It Must Be Love, Embarrassment, Baggy Trousers and, of course, Our House. Jointly presented by Nottingham’s legendary Television Workshop with designs from Nottingham Trent University, it features some of the region’s top young talent.

Lost

One of the Workshop’s most powerful plays is being revived – Lost by Bob Hescott.

Lost is a memory play, a love story and a whodunit. Inspired by the children’s drawings in the Pinkas Synagogue in Prague, Lost tells the story of four survivors as they look back to a fateful night in the old town hall prior to their transportation to Auschwitz.
Performances are at Nottingham Trent University from March 10th to the 12th 2010.

Tickets are £8 (£5 concessions) from The Television Workshop.

2009 Casting Update

Here are this years highlights of productions that have utilized Workshop talent.

Untitled Robin Hood Movie
Four Workshoppers have now completed the shoot which is being directed by Ridley Scott.

The True Meaning of Love
Georgia Groome stars in this film alongside a huge list of familiar past and present workshop faces. The film was written and directed by ex member Kieran Hardcastle and produced by Jack Curtis (also an ex Workshop member).

Curiosity
A short film written by ex member Jack Curtis. Past and present workshop faces in this one include Aaron Smith, Lauren Carse and Kiran Landa.

The Legend of Dick and Dom
This program features Birmingham’s Kia Pegg in a key role. Louis Greatorex also had a featured role as a mini Dick!

Microsoft
Louis Greatorex has also been to LA to complete the next stage of his motion capture work.

Butterfly
A DV short had Chanel Cresswell in the lead role with support from Eliot-Otis Brown Walters and Lauren Carse.

Wish 143
Chanel also appeared in this short with Kieran Hardcastle.

The Fattest Man in Britain
Aisling Loftus took a lead role alongside Timothy Spall. She also had the co-lead with Jack O’Connell in Dive with Chanel Cresswell, Mike Socha and Terry Haywood. (Aisling and Michael appeared on the front cover of Screen International as UK Stars of Tomorrow)

Shank
Michael Socha is currently working on this feature film.

Misfits
Lauren Socha is playing an uber chav in this asbocom.

Ten Tigers
Another local DV short featured Joe Sentence and Molly May Gardiner with support from 8 other Workshoppers

COI Anti Smoking Campaign
Three Workshoppers have been used in a variety of different media – posters, radio and tv for this campaign.

Shot
Chloe Richardson landed her first key role in this locally shot feature.

The Sarah Jane Adventures
Anjli Mohindra has completed her second series as Rani Chandra and is now rehearsing for East is East at Birm Rep.

Skins
Jack O’Connell dominates the new series and is half way through the shoot. He also worked alongside Michael Caine in Harry Brown and has had a part in Wuthering Heights.

Wasteland
Sophie Ellerby took a lead role in the touring production of this new play and was spotted by Giles Croft, Nottingham Playhouse director, and cast her as the maid in Blithe Spirit.

Time Larks
A no-budget short film featured three Workshoppers in lead roles.

The Perfect Burger
Paul Syrstad took part in this British Youth Film Academy project

Trolley
Tom Cowling lands a part in this short

In the Meadow
New girl Nadia Bouchlaghem worked alongside ex member Jessica Radcliffe in this DV short.
