THE DUMPING GROUND (CBBC) Kia Pegg is asked back for the part of Jody in this spin off from Tracey Beaker Returns.
YOUNG DRACULA (CBBC) Terry Haywood returns as Jonno Van Helsing
LIFE STORIES (BBC Learning) Humza Ali Khan plays Akeesh.
DOCTORS (BBC) Lauren Carse, Alex Wilson, Harriet Cains and Dylan Goodall all win featured parts.
ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA (BBC/RED PRODS) Louis Greatorex lands a regular part in this new comedy drama playing Derek Jacobi’s grandson
SCOTT AND BAILEY (ITV) Kayleigh Mann lands her first professional role.
THE LIST (Now Films) Aoife Kennedy and Ellie Grainger play sisters in this thriller feature film.
SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN (Dark Mirror Films) Dylan Goodall and Oliver Woollford undertake some motion capture work in their roles as fairies.
ECHO (NFTS) Lauren Carse and Oliver Woollford play brother and sister in this excellently crafted highly emotional short.
SAFESTORE AD (Blink prods) Cameron Jones gives his teddy an emotional promise in this ad.
THE LOVE INTEREST(Wellington Films) – Luke Williams and Harriet Cains land key parts in this short film/pilot.
CARDINAL (Outlaw Films) A music video to accompany ex Workshopper Rob Green’s debut single – Cardinal – is like a who’s who of Workshop talent – Aisling Loftus, Joe Dempsie, Georgia Groome, Kiran Landa, Tim Evans, Andre Squire, Aaron Smith, Ladene Hall, Dalton Walters and Under 11 Curtis Brown all feature as scenarios depicting the seven deadly sins (viewable on the Workshop website) Jack Curtis writes and directs.
MURDER (BBC) This powerful drama has Joe Dempsie as the lead with Lauren Socha in a supporting role. Ex member Darren Campbell landed the part of the boyfriend through a Workshop casting.
TOYS R US (Tomboy Films) Luca Sterling plays a very young exec testing toys in this pilot ad.
NSPCC – the local NSPCC has returned to the Workshop for a number of info films detailing safe practice. Ella O’Brien, Kayleigh Mann, Siobhan Duffy Simms, Julisha Miller, Nadia Bouchlaghem, Matt O’Donnell, Leila Varnum, Louis Gaunt, Mahdea Mughal, Ryan Shaw, Alicia Lansom, Akil Beale, Lucy Carless and Stevie Grieves all took part in a variety of roles.
THE SATURDAY STAFF (Hat Trick) Chris Howitt, Terry Haywood, Lauren Carse, James Burrows, Sarah White are joined by ex members Perry Fitzpatrick, Aaron Smith, Gail Kemp, Shauna Shim and AAron Smith in this comedy pilot.
SILENT WITNESS (ITV) James Burrows plays a lad with a brain tumour.
WHAT ABOUT ME? (Broadway Films) Meriel Ledwith, Lizzie Wood and Louis Gregory are offered parts in this short about an alcoholic parent.
THE GO BETWEEN (BBC Radio) Oscar Kennedy plays Leo with Richard Griffiths in this radio remake
HUNTED (HBO/BBC) Oscar is the grandson of a gangster boss.
KIT KAT ONLINE VIRAL (NBC Universal) Nimesh Jani took part in a viral ad beatboxong alongside comedian Miles Jupp.
DERELICT (Confetti Films) Tom Thompson, Tom Cowling and Gemma Casely-Kirk work on this student-directed short.
80,000 CHRISTMAS LIGHTS (BFI) Amelia Linney, Alex Wilson and Bradley Badder took part in this drama documentary about children in care over Christmas
THE WORM COLLECTOR (Roundabout T.I.E. /Nottingham Playhouse) Ian Horgan is asked back to tour Notts schools in this one man show.

Rob Green – Cardinal

Singer, songwriter and ex member of the group Rob Green teamed up with a handful of ex-Workshoppers to produce a short film / music video to accompany his debut single Cardinal. The single is available to buy in January from Rob’s website.

Casting November 2011 Update

DIDDY MOVIES (CBBC) Phoebe Brown gets two separate gigs and a variety of zany parts in this Dick and Dom spin-off directed and written by Julian Kemp.

THE FUSE (BBC) Oliver Woollford secures the part of Luke, playing Christopher Ecclestone’s son in this new drama shooting from Oct to Jan.

TRACEY BEAKER RETURNS (CBBC) Kia Pegg lands the part of Jody.

GREAT EXPECTATIONS (BBC) Oscar Kennedy plays Young Pip in this Christmas special.

UFO (Hawthorn Prods) Amelia Linney is chosen for this feature starring Jean Claude Van Damme.

VERA (ITV) James Burrows plays a gangster’s driver.

SKINS (E4) James Burrows also lands the part of Jake – a consolation prize for just losing a lead part. He got to film in Morrocco, however! Landing the lead role of Alex is ex Leeds Workshopper Sam Jackson. We also had a group of lads – Tom Cowling, Joe Malone, Luke Williams, Aaron Lodge and Tom Thompson – take part in a big choreographed scrap after impressing the fight director with their skills!

WEETABIX (BBH) Dylan Goodall is featured as the son of the family.

HUMAN BEINGS (Blind Eye Films) Harriet Cains and Vahid Gold take the lead roles of Jamie and Aaron. Twenty-three Over 16s were used as extras

EGGBOX (Hat Trick – pilot for BBC) Lauren Carse took the part of Rhia, Chris Howitt was George and ex member Perry Fitzpatrick took the part of Jimmy. Unfortunately the pilot was not commissioned.

SKY VIEW OF GREAT BRITAIN (Sky TV) Julian Kemp recruits another young Workshopper – Lara Thorpe – for a sequence at Stonehenge

BIRDSONG (Working Title) Jamie Selfridge fkies to Budapest to play the postboy.

GP TRAINING DVD (QMC) Paige Harris, Morgana Henry, Sofia Hardiker, Merle Harrison, Luke Williams and ex member Gail Race take part in this role play for doctors.

THE LAUNDRETTE (Spinning Clock) New boys Josh Glenister and Jack Marriott take part.

JUST HENRY (ITV) Ex Leeds member Charlie Clark is put up for and wins the part of Grace. Charlie also landed an RTS Yorkshire award – Most Promising Newcomer – for her role in South Riding.

COMMUNITY SERVICE VOLUNTEERS DVD (Mark Bushnell)- Rielly Newbold, Frankie Lamb and ex member Ladene Hall provide family voice overs.

TRUE LOVE (BBC) Dom Savage directs Vahid Gold playing Chris, a class bully.

SHERLOCK (Hartswood/BBC) Vahid also plays a young officer in this drama.

THE WORM COLLECTOR (Roundabout T.I.E. /Nottingham Playhouse) Ian Horgan tours Notts schools in this one man show.

Candese Reid wins the Best Brtish Newcomer award at the London Film Festival in recognition of her performance in the film Junkhearts.

Workshop baby!

We are delighted to announce our very first Workshop baby. River Mahjouri born 24th Aug to ex members Andre Mahjouri and Alex Groome. River is already down for his audition for the Under 11s in 2018!
